Stephen joined Toastmasters in July of 2008 for the purposes of becoming a more “polished” instructor. Steve has been a master safety Instructor-trainer in the the adult education and continuing education fields. A Florida certified Civil Court Mediator Steve currently volunteers his skills to the Volusia/Flagler Court system to help people resolve their differences. Toastmasters has helped me to become a better, more confident speaker and leader and those skills make me a better trainer and mediator. Toastmasters is an EXCELLENT organization to help with those skills! Steve is currently working on his Advanced Communicator Bronze.

Valerie Clymer has been a member of Coastmasters (Flagler) since June 2008. She currently serves as Treasurer of the club and is also a member of the Mentor Committee. Valerie found Toastmasters to be the greatest gift she could give herself for professional development.

Pam Joined Coastmasters as a New Years resolution in Jan of 2008. She is an active community leader and wears many hats in our community. From politics to entertainment you can be assured that Pam will have a hand in it. She is currently working on completion of her Competent Communicator and Leader programs.

Michael Ray King is the author of Fatherhood101: Bonding Tips for Building Loving Relationships and Loves Lost and Found. Michael is currently working on three new books and is looking forward to applying his Toastmasters experience through speaking engagements on various topics like fatherhood, writing, and publishing.

Competent Communicator & Competent Leader

Carolyn Boswell has been a member of Coastmasters since July 2007. She has completed the Competent Communication manual and received her Competent Communicator (CC) award.

Carolyn has served in many officer positions within the club and is a valuable resource to the newer members with less experience.

Dottie has been a member of Coastmasters since 2007. She has recently received her “Competent Communicator” award, after completing her first 10 speeches. Dottie’s favorite part of Toastmasters is Tabletopics where each member has the opportunity to do a one to two minute impromptu talk.

Rebecca LaNasa has been a member of Toastmasters for over 9 years and has slowly worked her way to Advanced Toastmaster, Silver. She originally joined the Early Birds Chapter in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and while in that club served several years as a club officer and Area Governor. After moving to Palm Coast in 2001, she took a few years off from Toastmasters because there was no club here. Thanks to the efforts of Ed Moore and Karyn Phyllips, co-founders of Coastmasters, she revived her enthusiasm and served as Club Mentor during that first exciting year. It gives her great pleasure to have witnessed the progress of new speakers and leaders as they improve and gain confidence.

Rebecca is currently an instructor for Zumba Fitness and is self proclaimed “ZumbaQueen” of Palm Coast.

Emil is a longtime Toastmaster from New York. Emil was the founder and past President of the Excelsior Advanced Toastmasters club in New York. He has served as area Governor. Emil was also a founding member of True Potential Toastmasters also of New York.

I have learned many techniques at toastmasters to help improve my communication skills in front of small and medium sized audiences. I am a residential real estate professional serving Flagler and Volusia Counties. Activities I enjoy include fishing, boating, yoga, travel, hiking, and attending baseball games.

Karyn “Dr. Bagel” Phillips is one of the founding members of our Coastmasters club. With a personality as big as New York, she is an EXCELLENT speaker and one we look to for help and guidance. You can hear “Dr. Bagel” live on the radio Wednesday mornings from 9-10am on local WNZF 1550AM & 106.3FM.

2009-2010 Division F Governor, DTM

Rothar is a veteran Toastmaster. He joined Toastmasters in 1994 while living in New York. He has served in various offices including President in New York and in Florida. One of our best speakers, Rothar is part of our Speakers Bureau and available to speak at your club or social events.

Rothar served as Area Governor in 2007, and obtained his Distinguished Toastmaster honor in 2008.
